PROBLEM
Truly born again believers are scarce in French Polynesia even
though Christianity is quite prevalent and, I would say, has
become a cultural feature of our nation. Unfortunately many people
are misled in believing that we are a Christian nation when in
fact the vast majority is just a nominal Christian population that
doesn't know the power of God and a godly lifestyle. We are
blessed with a God fearing attitude among the Polynesian people
but very little understanding of the message of salvation by faith
in Christ and His finished work on the Cross. Religiosity rates
high and that can also be a hindrance to true faith.
ONGOING PRAYER REQUESTS
This is what could really make a difference through your prayers:
- a greater move of the Holy Spirit among believers to empower
them with greater boldness in sharing the Gospel of the Kingdom
all around them
- a clearer teaching/preaching of the Word of God that would
result in a renewal of the mind and a transformation among
believers that would cause them to understand and move into the
perfect will of the Father for their lives
- a move toward unity in the Body of Christ and especially for
more interconnections among Christian leaders in joining hearts
and efforts toward the fulfilment of the Great Commission in the
outer islands of the country that have yet to hear a clear
proclamation of the Gospel of the Kingdom!!
- for a renewed vision of the will of God for our nation to rise
into her destiny to be a nation where:
- praise is a major focus and calling of islanders (cf Is.
42:10, 12) ;
- the fire of the Holy Spirit moves into all spheres of
society to affect positive transformation ;
- agape love is known to be the essential character of the
people of this nation ;
- health and healing are just a normal expression of life with
God in the islands;
- a major missionary movement to the nations would be brought
forth as a result of God's powerful move of transformation in the
nation.
PRAYERLINE RESPONSE
Heavenly Father we pray they will hunger and thirst for You to
know You. We pray they are not satisfied where they are in You but
will seek You with all their heart, receive Your Holy Spirit and
boldness to be a witness for You in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
